Bent Leg Twists to Full Twists#1056

Hello!

I am having some problems advancing from Bent Leg Twists to Full Twists. The Bent Leg Twists I can do, touching the floor with my left as well as my right hand. However, I seem to be a long way off from linking my arms behind my back as in the Full Twists variation.

I can see the point of temporarliy using a rope or towel. But at the moment I am not able to practice in this way, because I cannot thread my arm under my knee. Not sure if it is my arm or shoulder or core, my body just doesn’t seem capable of that movement!

Would you have any idea how I could get ahead?

Heya Daphne :)

I hear you - Have some potential alternatives here:

and here
https://support.hybridcalisthenics.com/1000

If you feel like you just can’t reach your arm “down” far enough - just actively keep reaching towards that - but if you feel like your body just kinda gets in the way (since hey, we’re all built a bit differently), then maybe you’d be better off with one of the alternatives listed above :)

I’ll gladly help you out more! I understand the twists are just kinda part of the routine; but what are you looking to get out of them personally? :) If I know that, I can better help you adjust to something else that might suit your goal if need be!

Many thanks, I think I might be able to make some progress by persisting in actively reaching. Will try the alternatives as well!
