I’m a 29 years old guy from India who has never done proper workouts before (apart from playing a few sports when I was a kid).
I started with the “routine” section of the Hybrid Calisthenics app a week ago. I have 2 questions:
Can I follow the routine blindly? Since I have no prior experience and knowledge, I’m a little confused 😅
I understand that the number of reps are increasing with each level. But, by following it blindly, can I assume that the app will show more kinds movements and harder variations automatically?
For instance, I’ve currently only done the following:
Wall push-ups and pull-ups, knee raises, jackknife squats, straight leg twists and gluten bridges.
So, nothing from lunges and elbow levers have even been introduced into the daily routine. Can I assume that they will be eventually included into my routine? And, will the movement variations (such as wall push-ups -> incline push-ups) automatically get included into my routine?
Can I choose not to take a rest day if I want to? Essentially, after the first day of working out, as expected, I had some pain, and decided to skip the next 2 days. After that, it’s been wonderful. However, today I was suggested to rest after two exercises, and I really didn’t feel like resting. So, is that options somehow available? (the good thing about the rest day is that I got time to write down these questions 😝)

Heya, Chrys here—one of the trainers at Hybrid!
You’re doing great, especially as a complete beginner—glad you’re enjoying the app! Yes, you can follow the routine blindly. The app is built to gradually progress you through harder movements and new variations once you’re strong enough for them. So yep, wall push-ups will turn into incline push-ups, knee raises into full leg raises, and other new moves like lunges and levers will show up later on as you level up.
As for rest days, they’re recommended but not mandatory. If you’re feeling good and not overly sore, you’re fine to skip them now and then. Keep at it though bro, youre doing well! 💪

Thanks a lot, Chrys! This is so good to know!
Btw, I’m also following Hampton’s YouTube video on the full body warmup, but, till the free jumping section:
Because I haven’t progressed on to the full workouts yet.

No probs! Well if you ever need help Im here for ya! 💪

Hi Chrys! One more thing. Currently, I always get 2 kinds exercises per day. Does that go up eventually? For instance, today I got leg raises and wall push-ups. I did the wall pull-ups as well, but, I did that manually. As more days pass, will the app automatically show more than 2 exercises?

Hey! So it will always be 2 exercises on the app😁
