Been in an Accident, wrist, elbows and knees got affected#1568

R

Hi! Sahil here. 33 year old. Few months back I got slammed by a car on the road. The accident has affected my left knee and elbow, the side I was hit and my right wrist which I used to break the fall.
I have now recovered from flesh wounds but all the joints still hurt when I try to exercise (push up) or carry my nephew in arms for too long. Same with knees.

Heya, Chrys here—one of the trainers at Hybrid!

I’m really sorry you went through all of that bro but it’s good to hear you’re past the initial recovery. That lingering joint pain is your body’s way of saying it’s still healing deeper tissues, especially around the tendons and ligaments.

Right now, Id focus on rebuilding gently with isometrics (like wall pushups, glute bridges, wall sits, etc.) since they load the joints without movement, which is often better tolerated. Also, don’t train through pain—a little soreness is okay, but sharp pain means back off or regress the movement. (I dealt with a surgery a few years back. Same issue regarding different types of pain) For your wrist, try pushups with your hands elevated on a sturdy surface like a table edge or yoga blocks to keep the wrist more neutral.

Hey Chrys! Thanks a lot for your reply. I’ll start trying the variations of the exercises that you suggested today onwards. Will keep you posted with the updates. Thankyou so much for the help
