Hanging leg raises -- unable to progress above hip height#1582

A

Hi there! I’ve been doing hanging leg raises for a few weeks now. Grip is a limiting factor, but other than that, I am not able to raise my legs above hip height. Is there any form cue that might help?

Heya, Chrys here—one of the trainers here at Hybrid! Try locking in a slight posterior pelvic tilt before you start the rep: squeeze your glutes, engage your lower abs, and think about curling your pelvis toward your ribs. Keep your shoulders pulled down and back (scapular depression) so you’re not swinging. Initiate the lift by tucking your knees first, then extend as you rise—this helps you clear that hip-height sticking point. Over time your hip flexors and core will catch up and the height will come. Hang tight! (Pun intended 😎)
