Best Exercise Bands for Pull Ups | Build Strength and Improve Form#1668

I researched the best exercise bands for pull ups over the past few days because I am trying to improve my upper body strength and form at home. I have gone through a bunch of reviews on fitness sites like Men’s Health, Garage Gym Reviews, and Wirecutter, and they all seem to recommend a few top options such as:
WIKDAY Resistance Bands

VEICK Resistance Bands

I am mainly looking for something durable that offers good resistance levels for assisted pull ups, plus some flexibility to use for other strength exercises. My goal is to slowly reduce assistance over time and work up to doing unassisted pull ups.If anyone has experience with these or any other bands, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Which brand offers better quality, grip, and resistance variety? Any tips for beginners using exercise bands for pull ups would also be appreciated! Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hey! Chrys here, one of the trainers at Hybrid.

So I looked both of those up. Both WIKDAY and VEICK resistance bands are solid options for assisted pull-ups and general strength training. If your goal is to build upper-body strength and gradually reduce assistance until you can do unassisted pull-ups, here’s the short version. The WIKDAY Pull-Up Band Set is often praised for durability and value—it’s thick, holds up well over time, and gives consistent resistance levels. The VEICK bands are also popular and come in a wider variety of sets, but some users say the lighter bands feel thinner or slightly off in listed resistance. Both are versatile enough for other exercises, but WIKDAY might edge out for reliability if your main focus is pull-ups.

When you start, pick a band that allows about 5–8 clean pull-ups. If you can do way more than that, move to a lighter band; if you can’t get 3 solid reps, go heavier. Focus on full range of motion—arms straight at the bottom, chest to the bar at the top—and control the lowering phase. You can also use the same bands for negatives, rows, or lat-pull movements to build your back faster. Just check your bands regularly for small tears and keep them out of heat or sunlight to make them last longer.
