Hybrid Routine - Full Body#448

?

Hello fellow friends
I just wanted to ask, if i can use the hybrid Routine in full body 3x week .
I Started doing it since september 2022 till today , and Im on One Hand Pull up and Archer Pushup .
But i wanted to know if doing this way , AM i losing a lot to grow slightly Faster with a split Routine.
And Im questioning what to do Next once i finish this new Journey .
Should i do it again with vest weights or is not optimal ?

Hello there :)

I assume by doing it 3x/week you mean that you’re the entire routine (monday to saturday) within 1 day and then just doing that 3 times a week with rest in between - right?

Doing the hybrid routine full body 3x/week that way is totally reasonable and I’ve heard of a couple people doing it that way and it working just fine for them - it’s no worse than any other split, and compared to the standard hybrid routine you’re doing more work so you should actually be making better progress than without it, so you’re fully on the right track as long as you aren’t injuring yourself and seeing progress! :)

What to do next lies in your own hands - adding weight to some of the movements is definitely an option (such as weighted squats, pullups, pushups) - I just wouldn’t go back to start with weighthed wall pushups or something :b

Alternatively you can work towards skills such as front levers, planches, handstands, etc. - if that interests you

It’s also possible to shift your training to more weightlifting oriented things - it’s really all up to you, depends where you want your journey to lead you :)

If you’ve got an idea of where you want to take it, you can always ask for guidance

Yes, im just using Pull / push / Leg Raises / Bridges in my training. I have some back problems and the twists and squats for me are a no no x)

So when i finish this Routine and get the results i want , in this case the One arm Pushup and the One arm Pull up, i can Change this Routine to front levers , planches or handstands .. but the main problem for me is : Will doing progression to another skills Will not me make me lose all the progress from the hybrid Routine?
I cant put another skill while training HC routine again with weight because Will be too much stress for the body, maybe !?

We do have a blog article that talks about how to incooporate other things into the routine - so what you could do is take the regular weekly volume of the routine and add things on top of it (it’s described here) https://www.hybridcalisthenics.com/blog/customize-the-routine

That way you can work on new things while making sure to maintain what you’ve accomplished

Front lever would go with pullups - they complement each other
Planches would go with pushups - particularly pseudo planche pushups would complement them
and handstands are generally not too demanding so they can be fit in throughout the week :)

You’re absolutely right that it’s important to keep the aspects that you’ve improved to some degree - if you for example change one arm pullups to weighted pullups, that will help you maintain/strengthen your one arm pullups and help you get towards front levers too
