Lower Back Cracks Leg Raises#459

Hello,
I’ve started on the routine today, and everytime I lower my legs back to the ground while doing a leg raise makes my lower back crack (like a cracking knuckles feeling/sound)
Is this type of cracking/popping norrmal when starting out? I’ve not done any exercise for several years now and my mobility isn’t amazing, I’m just concerned that it doesn’t seem to happen with other exxercises and wondering if I should be looking at something else to start out!
Thanks

Hey M :)

I wouldn’t say that what you’re experiencing is unsual, and it might be due to a tightness/weakness of the hip flexors

There’s a good chance this will gradually lessen or go away simply by progressing through the leg raise variations, as well as stretching them out via the bridge progressions (lunges are another good option for this)

So as long as you aren’t experiencing any pain, I’d simply aim to gradually progress these exercises and see if it improves things - it might take a couple of weeks/months to go away, hard to say

Be sure to maintain good form during the leg raises, particularly focusing on trying to keep your lower back against the floor! :)

It may be what Lars mentioned or a weak core/lower back. I always recommend placing your hands underneath your lower back if thats an issue

Has there been any progress on this. I have the same issue. No pain just crackling. I’m 27 and decided to do more than just cardio
