Cannot do floor work#953

A

I have considerable weakness in my knees, along with balance issues and a neuropathy on the front of my knees, that making getting down to and up from the floor extremely difficult and painful. Is there a way to modify or substitute the floor exercises to obtain similar results while standing or seated and/or correct the underlying issues to improve my balance and mobility?

Hey there - sorry to hear about your struggles!

We’re not really qualified to help you correct the underlying issues, I recommend seeing a physical therapist for that

Nevertheless, if you are looking for something you can try at home/on your own, the lunges on the website could serve to build up some mobility and strength/balance in a way that allows you to ease into things - https://www.hybridcalisthenics.com/lunges - I’d also recommend holding onto something for assistance to work up to things and be safe

- see this for the seated knee tucks (leg raises)

And see the screenshot I sent for recommendations of what you might be able to do without having to get on the floor (it’s something I wrote on facebook for something a while back)

I hope it helps, let me know if you need anything!

None of this is medical advice, just giving you an idea of something that could work! :)
